Nuclear Abolition Day, 25th of June 2011

If you are against nuclear weapons, join this Facebook event. On June25 update your status on facebook or organize an action in your city, with your friends. Let”s all say NO to nuclear weapons. It does not take you a lot of time! We are not asking you to go anywhere, we are asking you to demonstrate simply saying NO to nuclear weapons and military spending: yes to environment, Millennium Development Goals, Human rights and social services!

On 25 June thousands of people around the world will take part in coordinated actions for http://www.phpaide.com/demos/PowerPetition/ a treaty banning all nuclear weapons.

The leaders of the P5 nuclear-weapon states – the US, Russia, Britain, France and China – are meeting in Paris a few days later, and we must send a loud and clear message to them and to other government leaders: Now is the time to begin negotiations on a nuclear abolition treaty.

ICAN has developed a website where you can register your actions. We also offer a number of action ideas, some taking as little as 10 minutes. Even if you’re short of time, there’s no reason why you can’t take part!
